The exhibition Haut les mains! (Hands up!) follows a logical sequence around a gold leafed wooden panel titled Index, stating ten instructions whose underlying principles are to be found dissected within the exhibition through the establishment of a color/material lexical field.

This list of ten instructions is an appropriation of the 1943 civilian guidebook How to Keep Well in Wartime, distributed to the people of the UK during WWII and used nowadays as an educational material. Although its original layout has been respected, some of the original words were left out, in order to get rid of the direct link to the specific times it is referring to, and thus allowing the text to turn towards a contemporary resonance.
